Soap&Glory Tricks of the Shade Eye Shadow Palette

Many have heard of the brand Soap&Glory and think of it as body washes and moisturizers. I'd never really heard of the brand and thought that is all they did until one Christmas. My sister who got me into make up gave me this as a present.

Once i had brought it home i thought i'd try it out and was pleased with the quality of it. It comes with a Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen, Twelve Shadow Shades and a Blend-It-All Double-Ended Brush.

I just want to add that the Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen that comes with this eye shadow palette is amazing. It's easy to use and comes out a very dark black and comes out with ease too. It dries very quickly and can be used to make thick or thin line depending on what bit of the pen you use to draw with. It rubs off easily with a make up wipe also.

There are a great variety of colors even though there are only twelve and i use this palette a lot.The colors are called (going from left to right) Vanilla, Minky, Pink T, Mudhoney, Aubersheen, Dandy Plum, Diamond Dust, Chine, Black Gold, Sugar Violet, Wild Blue, Smokin'.

It was hard to choose but i wanted to show you at least 3 of my favorites. These are the ones i use the most, all 3 are natural colors because that's what suits me the most. Luckily these are the first 3 in the palette and are called (from left to right) Vanilla, Minky & Pink T. I like Vanilla because its light and you can apply it just to highlight your eye going all the way up to the brow area. Minky is nice its that little bit darker and it tones your eyelid perfectly, especially when using eyeliner with it. Pink T is almost like vanilla but its got that shine of pink to it, just adding the tiniest bit of color without it being too noticeable.

These are my least favorite colors, i know that there are quite a few there making this seem like a horrible palette but the only reason i dislike them is because they don't suit me. To start with the purple at the top is too bright and makes my eyes pop too much, i went through a phase when i was younger of wearing purple eye shadow almost everyday that i could and i defiantly regret it a lot.  Purple eye shadow does not suit me but that's not to say this color isn't great on others. The purple is called Sugar Violet which i think is a misleading name, it sounds light it should be a light color when its rather dark on the skin.
The Black on the far left is called Black Gold which once again is a misleading name because having the word gold with black makes you think of a lighter tone, gold is shiny and tinted whereas this color when on the skin is rather matted and dark. The reason i do not like this color is because its too matt for me, the only time i use this would be when using eyeliner and i want to make it stand out by just going over it with this color.
The one in the middle is called Dandy Plum, the only reason i don't like this one is because it doesn't suit me, its too dark and comes out very dusty on the skin. This color might look very good on another person.
The one on the far right is called Wild Blue. The name is appropriate for this color because the blue isn't very light but isn't too dark either. This color i think would look nicer to be worn on an evening out. This color will never be worn by me however because i just couldn't pull it off.
The color on the bottom of the picture is called Smokin'. The name suits it because of it's dark color, if you look closely you can also see the little bit of glitter it contains and ashes have that little glisten in them. I actually do not absolutely dislike this color because it does look very pretty but when i put black eye shadow on my eyes i look terrible and this can come out very dark on the skin, that's the only reason i do not like this color.

I am very pleased with this product and recommend it for anyone in need of a mix of colors. I am not sure where you can buy this product but i think you can get it from bigger boots stores and online.
